How long will a power station run a chest freezer?
A chest freezer is one of the easiest loads for a power station: it cycles, so it averages about 24.9 W. A 1,070 Wh Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 runs the ENERGY STAR median model for about 37 hours from full. Find your freezer's kWh a year on its yellow EnergyGuide label and read across.

Will it start the compressor?
Every station in the table can. We allow 160 W running and 320 W for start-up (twice running, per GE and Whirlpool guidance); the smallest station here, the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus, is rated 600 W continuous and 1,200 W surge.
Making it last longer
Keep the lid shut: a full chest freezer holds its temperature for many hours with the power off, so you can also run it in blocks and recharge the station in between. Sharing the station with a fridge? Add both in the runtime calculator or plan the whole day in Size a station. All appliances side by side: runtime chart; fridges: refrigerator page.
Method and limits
Hours = capacity × usable share × 85% conversion ÷ (average watts + station idle draw). Average watts = kWh a year ÷ 8,760 hours. Median 218 kWh/yr across 9 ENERGY STAR chest freezers in the dataset (small sample), averaged over 8,760 hours, so treat the median as a rough guide; your label figure is better. Labels are tested at room temperature; a freezer in a hot garage uses more. The BLUETTI AC180 row uses BLUETTI's published 90% depth of discharge and 15 W self-consumption; see Methods.

- Running and start-up watts: Compressor running: 160 W. Embraco's 115 V household compressors draw about 90 to 162 W at the catalog's rating point (−23.3 °C evaporating, 54.4 °C condensing, harsher than a kitchen); we use the top of that range. NEEA's metering study logged about 120 W while the compressor ran on a 2006 20 cu ft fridge. Start-up: 320 W, twice running. GE and Whirlpool both say to allow about double the running watts for a refrigerator compressor to start, for a second or two. Chest freezers are usually manual-defrost, so no defrost heater is added. Embraco compressor catalog; GE Appliances.
